Whether you’re facing challenges or just need a little extra help, GAP is a safe, inclusive space where you can access the support you need, free of judgment. Our programs are confidential, compassionate, and designed to help you gain stability and hope.

GAP’s Services

All of our programs are available to everyone in the Gravenhurst community. Meals are prepared by dedicated volunteers. Everyone is welcome!

Food Programs

The Tuesday Lunch Program offers a warm, welcoming space to enjoy a delicious meal and connect with others in a friendly, supportive environment. If you prefer to pick up your meal call 705-646-3733 or email inquiries@gravenhurstagainstpoverty.com .

The Wednesday Fresh Soup Program provides a comforting meal to neighbours in the community looking for nourishment and connection. Whether you’re in need of a meal or just looking for a friendly place to socialize, this program is for you.

The Thursday Food Day Program provides everyday food items and fresh produce to those in need ensuring that food security is accessible to neighbours in our community.

• Pick-Up Time: 2:30 to 3:30 PM

Delivery Registration Cut-off: The Friday of the week prior.
If you’re not able to pick up your hamper, it can be delivered.

Wellness Programs

Come for the coffee, stay for the company! The GAP Coffee Time Social is open to everyone, offering a friendly environment where neighbours can gather, chat and enjoy the simple pleasures of a good cup of coffee.

The Youth Adult Centre (YAC) provides a safe, inclusive space for youth aged 12-18 to gather, grow and gain valuable mentorship through fun group activities, creative workshops, or discussions on important life topics. YAC is more than just a program – it’s a space where youth can be themselves, make new friends, and find support from peers and mentors. All are welcome to join, and participation is free. If you’re a young person looking for a place to belong and thrive, YAC is here for you!

The Community Kitchen Program provides a supportive environment where neighbours can come together to prepare nutritious, budget-friendly meals, share tips, and develop their cooking skills. All ingredients and supplies are provided, and participants will leave with both a delicious meal and the knowledge to recreate it at home.

Transportation Programs

GAP provides no-cost taxi rides for essential in-town trips, including medical appointments, grocery shopping, trips to the food bank, work, and laundry services.
To access the GAP ‘No Cost Taxi Program,’ you must register for a Transportation Card by calling 705-641-2225 during G.A.P. Office Hours (9:30 AM - 3:30 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays).
Once you’re registered, you’ll receive a transportation card (one per month) that can be used for essential trips around Gravenhurst. The card has no commercial value and is solely for use with GAP's no-cost taxi program. You do not need to be enrolled in our Food Program to access the Transportation Program.

What is the cut-off for registering for food delivery?

The registration cut-off for Thursday Food Day delivery is the Friday of the week prior.

Can I pick up my meal instead of dining in?

Who can join the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)?

YAC is open to youth aged 12-18. The program provides a safe, supportive space for young people to participate in wellness activities and gain mentorship.

Do I need to bring my own supplies for the Art Drop-In Program?

No, all supplies are provided for the Art Drop-In Program. Just bring your creativity!

What can I expect at the Community Kitchen Program?
